Car Tire Rotation Pattern
Labels: Tire Maintenance TipsCar tire rotation is done whenever spot wear becomes significant on individual tires. Tire rotation serves as a practical means of reducing tire cost. Also, tire rotation can smooth out irregular tire wear and extend tread life. Car tires are rotated from front to rear and from right to left.
Car tire rotation important things to remember
When your car has an ordinary spare tire or if the spare tire is the same as the four tire installed in your car, the spare tire should also be included in the tire rotation pattern.
Spare tire rotation is done by moving the spare tire on the right front wheel where wear and tear is generally the greatest. Rotate the other tires following one of the car tire rotation pattern shown in illustrations. Place the left rear tire in the trunk as the new spare tire.

Radical tires may also be rotated using one of the car tire rotation pattern as illustrated. Some tires must be rotated using tire rotation pattern (a) only. This is because some tires have a specific rotational direction. They must not be mounted in such a way that their rotation pattern is reversed. Always note the rotational direction of spike tires when removing them from the car. Mark the direction with a piece of chalk.
When reinstalling the wheel and tire to a car, gradually tighten the nuts on to the bolts. Tighten first one bolt and then the bolt opposite it on the wheel. Proceed around the wheel on this fashion until the entire bolts have been tightened.
To maximize the life of your car tire, proper tire maintenance is necessary and a practical way of doing it is by following the car tire rotation pattern.
