Labels: Tyre TechnicalWhen the tire tread wears this can affect your car steering control due to slippage, this is more evident when braking on wet roads. A lot of safety standards prohibit the use of car tire that has a remaining tread of not more than 1.6 millimeter or equivalent to 0.063 inch. With this a Tread Wear Indicator on a car tire was implemented, a Tread Wear Indicator or TWI on the tire appears when the tread is worn down to the limit.
The Tread Wear Indicator appears on the tread of a car tire, stamped on the side wall of a tire is a triangle mark to indicates the location of the Tread Wear Indicator same as the picture below.

If the Tread Wear Indicator appears on your car tire, this means that the tire already worns out and the tire is needed to be replace, if not then your safety on the road while driving is compromise and you put yourself and other motorist at risk.

Remember be informed, be aware and be safe of your car tire.
